Shawna has an experienced and proven track record recruiting within the Architecture, Design and Construction industry across North America. With a Master’s in Environmental Design and a well-developed network of industry professionals, she has both the technical understanding of the design and development process as well as an active network and deep-rooted connections within the market developing exceptional relationships with her clients and candidates throughout the industry.Shawna is a Founding Partner of DMC Recruitment Group and is focused in working with her clients and candidates in the Architecture & Design industry working with various search engagements of specific positions throughout North America including; Principal, Director, Senior Architect, Architect, Technologist, Designer, Project Manager and other positions within small to large architecture and engineering design firms within this discipline.The combination of Shawna’s education, experience and passion for design fuels her goals to develop further relationships with her clients and candidates and her focus on developing an educated and reliable recruitment agency specifically in the industries of architecture and design, building materials and construction. Shawna believes in the development of healthy environments and the design of human spaces as cohesive elements of our built environment and how we as humans can develop and build those spaces. She is passionate about design and spaces but is stronger at developing the relationships with the individuals that create those rather than being one herself. Territory Sales Manager – Building Materials (Ontario – GTA Based)
Location: Greater Toronto Area (ideally Mississauga, Oakville, or surrounding)
Industry: Building Materials / Construction Supply
Compensation: $80,000–$100,000 base + uncapped commissions + car allowance + gas + full benefits
Travel: Field-based, 4–5 days/week (includes light overnight travel)

A nationally recognized Canadian manufacturer with over four decades of experience, this company has carved out a dominant position in the Western Canadian fenestration market and is investing heavily in growth across Eastern Canada. With Canadian-made products, European-imported specialty lines, and a customer-first approach, this company provides premium daylighting solutions to builders, roofing distributors, and supply yards nationwide.

Position Summary
This is a true “hunter” sales role ideal for a motivated rep with a proven ability to grow underdeveloped markets. You’ll inherit a modest but long-standing book of business and be tasked with expanding market share in Ontario. The focus is on face-to-face selling, opening new accounts, and deepening relationships with distributors, contractors, and channel partners in the building materials sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive sales across Ontario, targeting:
    • Roofing distributors
    • Building supply yards and window & door dealers
    • Commercial glaziers and general contractors
  • Manage a mix of new business development and account expansion
  • Maintain a strong presence in the field (4+ days/week) – this is not a desk job
  • Educate customers on product specs, benefits, and installation support
  • Collaborate with inside sales and customer service to ensure fulfillment
  • Prepare and follow up on quotes, presentations, and sales materials
  • Participate in trade shows and industry events as needed
  • Use CRM and call reporting tools to track progress
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in building materials, construction supply, or a related field
  • Proven track record of exceeding targets, growing territory revenue, and opening new accounts
  • Self-starter who thrives in a field-based role
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable with light overnight travel (4–5 nights/month)
  • Based within a reasonable commute to Mississauga warehouse (e.g., Burlington, Oakville, North York)
