Job Summary:
As the Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of multi-family, mixed-use projects across the Lower Mainland, starting with a 6 story, wood-frame project in Ladner.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Responsibilities:
- Provide overall on-site management and coordination of multi-family residential construction projects from start to finish.
- Oversee and manage construction activities, including scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and safety.
- Coordinate and communicate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Ensure that construction projects are executed in compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or delays, and implement corrective measures to keep projects on track.
- Manage and supervise the construction team, including subcontractors and laborers, to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction quality, identify deficiencies, and ensure adherence to project specifications.
- Collaborate with the project management team to develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost control measures.
- Coordinate the procurement and delivery of construction materials, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including daily progress reports, site diaries, and change orders.
- Foster a culture of safety on-site by enforcing all health and safety regulations and promoting safe work practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to multi-family residential construction.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as Site Superintendent in multi-family residential construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and safety standards in Vancouver, BC.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising construction teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in using construction management software and tools.
