SENIOR PLANNER - HEALTHCARE
Location: Toronto, ON
(Hybrid or Remote - Ontario)
Compensation: $110,000 – $140,000

Their Canadian team is growing, and they’re looking for an experienced Senior Healthcare Planner to play a key role in the design and planning of complex healthcare environments. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Canada or in a hybrid capacity from their Toronto studio.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Healthcare Planner will lead and support the strategic planning and design of healthcare projects across a range of scales. Working closely with clients, clinical teams, and multidisciplinary design groups, you’ll help create environments that improve patient experiences, support clinical excellence, and reflect emerging best practices in healthcare delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead healthcare planning efforts from concept development through detailed design.
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to create functional programs and layouts aligned with clinical and operational needs.
  • Analyze workflows and translate them into efficient, adaptable, and patient-centered planning solutions.
  • Coordinate medical planning requirements with architectural and engineering teams.
  • Mentor junior planners and designers, promoting professional growth and collaboration.
  • Participate in user group meetings, presentations, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
  • Stay up to date with healthcare design trends, technologies, and standards.
  • Support business development initiatives, proposals, and client relationship efforts as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional degree in Architecture or related discipline; architectural licensure is an asset.
  • Minimum 8 years of professional experience with a strong focus on healthcare planning.
  • Proven background working on mid- to large-scale healthcare projects (e.g., hospitals, clinics, medical campuses).
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, codes, and guidelines (e.g., CSA Z8000, FGI).
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a collaborative approach.
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office; experience with healthcare-specific planning tools is an advantage.
