ABOUT OUR CLIENT

With a deep commitment to design excellence and social impact, they’ve established a strong reputation across multiple sectors — particularly healthcare. Their Toronto studio is growing, and they’re seeking a talented Senior Healthcare Planner to help lead the design and planning of complex healthcare environments across Canada and beyond.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Healthcare Planner, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of healthcare facilities. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and healthcare leaders to develop environments that enhance patient experience, support clinical excellence, and embrace forward-thinking design and technology.
KEY REPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the healthcare planning process on major projects — from early concept development and visioning through to detailed design.
- Partner with clients, consultants, and internal teams to develop functional programs and space layouts that respond to clinical and operational needs.
- Analyze clinical workflows and translate them into efficient, flexible, and patient-centered design solutions.
- Coordinate medical planning requirements with architectural, engineering, and specialty consultants.
- Mentor and support junior planners and designers, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
- Participate in user group sessions, client presentations, and stakeholder engagement meetings.
- Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and standards in healthcare design.
- Contribute to business development efforts, proposals, and client relationship initiatives where appropriate.
- Professional degree in Architecture; licensure is an asset.
- Minimum 8 years of experience, with a strong focus on healthcare planning.
- Proven track record working on mid-to-large-scale healthcare projects (hospitals, medical campuses, ambulatory care centers, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of clinical operations, healthcare codes, and guidelines (e.g., CSA Z8000, FGI).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client engagement skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and experience managing multiple priorities in a collaborative studio setting.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with healthcare-specific planning tools is an asset.
