What You'll Lead (High-Level)
- Provide vision, direction, and leadership to the Planning team.
- Develop, implement, and oversee municipal planning documents, policies, and growth strategies.
- Manage departmental operations, planning projects, and budgeting.
- Collaborate with Council, senior leadership, staff, and community partners.
- Represent the municipality in committees, boards, or regional forums.
- Mentor and support a skilled team, fostering innovation and collaboration.
- 6+ years of progressive planning and leadership experience (municipal experience an asset).
- Degree in Urban Planning, Land Use Planning, or related field; (equivalent combination of education and experience).
- APPI membership; RPP designation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta planning legislation and municipal regulations.
- Proven project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Valid driver's license and flexibility for occasional evening commitments.
