Landscape Designer

THE OPPORTUNITY

LOCATION: Edmonton, AB
COMPENSATION: $60 K Base + Bonus + Commission, Benefits

Our client, a well-established and growing residential design-build company in the Edmonton area, has engaged us to identify a Senior Residential Landscape Designer / Client Lead to join their team.

We are looking for a designer who wants more than a production-focused role. This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to lead projects, shape client experiences, and see their designs fully realized in the field.

Importantly, this position requires proven residential landscape design experience. Candidates must have hands-on experience designing outdoor spaces for homeowners, practical residential design expertise, client confidence, and an understanding of how projects are built.

This role sits at the centre of design, client leadership, and project success. You will act as the primary Design Lead, guiding homeowners from initial consultation through concept development, revisions, pricing alignment, and handoff to construction.

This is not a back-office drafting role. Our client is seeking a designer who:

• Takes ownership of projects from concept to construction

You will play a critical role in driving both client satisfaction and project profitability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead residential client consultations and discovery meetings
• Translate client vision into thoughtful, functional, and buildable landscape designs
• Develop high-quality presentation packages (2D/3D concepts as applicable)
• Produce detailed, construction-ready design drawings
• Participate in scope development, budgeting input, and project estimating
• Guide clients through design revisions, selections, and approvals
• Collaborate closely with construction and operations teams to ensure seamless execution
• Ensure designs align with site conditions, municipal requirements, and build realities
• Identify opportunities to enhance project value through thoughtful design solutions
• Maintain ownership of client relationships throughout the lifecycle of the project

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 + yearss of strong, demonstrated experience in residential landscape design (essential)
• A portfolio of built residential projects
• Confidence leading homeowners through the design process
• Entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for designing great spaces
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and sequencing
• Experience contributing to estimating, pricing, or scope development
• Commercial awareness and understanding of project budgets
• A proactive mindset — someone who wants responsibility, not just task execution

Compensation Outline

• Base salary circa $60,000 (dependent on experience)
