Location: Burnaby, BC or Remote Worker
Compensation: 70k to 85k depending on experience + benefits + vacation
About the Role
Our client is a well-established supplier in the lumber and building materials industry, serving residential and multi-family builders. They are looking to add a Floor Designer & Wood Frame Estimator to their team who can support sales and operations through accurate, efficient, and code-compliant designs and estimates.
This role will focus on floor system layouts, beam and header sizing, and full wood-frame material takeoffs. You will work closely with contractor sales, project management, and operations teams to ensure projects are designed, priced, and delivered correctly.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing floor systems, beams, headers, and related structural components
- Using Javelin and Estima to complete layouts, calculations, and sealed design packages (where required)
- Reviewing architectural and structural drawings for accuracy and constructability
- Completing full wood-frame material takeoffs and estimates
- Preparing builder-friendly layouts, BOMs, and pricing packages
- Supporting the sales team with value engineering and alternate design options
- Ensuring designs and estimates meet local building codes and manufacturer standards
- Working directly with builders, site supers, and engineers to resolve design and framing questions
- Managing multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in floor design, EWP systems, and/or wood frame estimating
- Strong proficiency with Javelin and Estima
- Solid understanding of residential and multi-family construction
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working directly with contractors, engineers, and sales teams
- Organized, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple projects at once
