Our client, a highly-respected Canadian manufacturer of industrial goods, is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their finance team. This position presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization where your expertise will play a key role in driving success as they go through a period of substantial growth.
In this role, the Financial Analyst will report to the Senior Finance Controller and be responsible for a wide range of accounting and financial activities. From managing general accounting functions and month-end processes to conducting detailed financial analyses, you will ensure accuracy, improve efficiencies, and deliver actionable insights to leadership. Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end duties, including preparing bank reconciliations, journal entries, and maintaining prepaid schedules.
- Provide expense analysis reports (Actual vs Budget) and develop reporting structures to improve financial insights.
- Prepare and analyze commission and rebate reports, and support operational reporting processes.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, analyze sales and marketing expenses, and assist with year-end preparation for external auditors.
- Review bi-weekly payroll submissions for accuracy and compliance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in data collection and reporting.
- Collaborate with department teams to ensure ERP system data accuracy and resolve data errors.
What We’re Looking For
- 2 - 3 years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis role.
- Working towards a CPA designation is highly desirable, as well as a Degree in Finance or Business.
- Strong technical skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems.
- Detail-oriented professional with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.
- Curious and a natural problem solver who enjoys digging into detail to make sound recommendations to the business.
