Lawyer – Real Estate Law Firm
Looking for an experienced lawyer seeking autonomy, flexibility, and partnership potential with a growing Edmonton-based firm.
Associate Lawyer
Location: Edmonton, Alberta
Industry: Legal Services
Salary Range: Competitive and flexible compensation structure based on experience and practice level
Company Story:
Join a growing Edmonton-based law firm built around practical legal work, strong client relationships, and a no-nonsense approach to practice. This is an opportunity for a lawyer who values autonomy, flexibility, and the ability to manage their practice without layers of internal bureaucracy.
The firm operates with a lean, entrepreneurial structure where lawyers are trusted to run their files, build client relationships, and contribute to long-term growth. The environment is collaborative and professional, with strong administrative support in place, while still offering the independence many experienced lawyers seek. This is a full-time, in-office opportunity based in Edmonton.
The Right Fit:
The Associate Lawyer reports directly to firm leadership and works closely with support staff while independently managing a caseload and client relationships. This role is suited to a self-starter who is confident handling files with limited oversight and enjoys the freedom to structure their own workflow and practice development efforts.
The firm is open to lawyers with experience in residential and commercial real estate, corporate law, civil litigation, family law, or a combination of practice areas. Candidates with an existing client base are viewed as an asset, though not required.
There is a clear pathway for long-term growth and partnership potential for lawyers who contribute meaningfully to the success and expansion of the firm.
Must-haves include strong file management skills, professionalism, confidence working independently, and the ability to guide support staff to align with preferred workflow processes.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Independently manage a caseload across one or multiple practice areas
- Maintain and build strong client relationships through responsive service
- Handle legal matters with minimal supervision and strong accountability
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents and agreements
- Oversee files from intake through resolution or closing
- Contribute to business development and long-term practice growth
- Work collaboratively with administrative and support staff
- Maintain accurate documentation, timelines, and client communication

- Comfortable working in a self-directed environment
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
