Our client is seeking an A&D Specification Representative to join their team in San Francisco, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for driving demand and product specification by developing and strengthening relationships with architects, interior designers, dealers, contractors, and fabricators across the commercial and residential design community, with a focus on industrial, kitchen, and bath surface applications.
You will manage project opportunities from early design and planning stages through to completion, ensuring the company's products are specified and remain embedded throughout the full project lifecycle. This role requires a strategic mindset, building and executing a regional plan that prioritizes key architectural firms, design influencers, and high-value project opportunities across the Bay Area and surrounding markets.
You will maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities, tracking specifications and project progress within Salesforce, ensuring data integrity and visibility across the business. Success in this role will come from your ability to convert specifications into wins, grow market share, and consistently deliver against revenue targets.
A key component of the role includes leading Continuing Education Unit (CEU) presentations, lunch-and-learns, and product demonstrations to architects and designers, positioning the company as a trusted partner within the A&D community.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow relationships with architects, interior designers, developers, contractors, and fabrication partners across Northern California
- Drive product specification within commercial and residential projects from concept through completion
- Build and execute a targeted regional business plan focused on key accounts and project opportunities
- Manage and track a robust project pipeline using Salesforce
- Deliver CEU presentations, product trainings, and industry events to increase brand awareness and specification rates
- Partner closely with sales, distribution, and internal teams to ensure project success and continuity
- Monitor specification activity, project wins, and market trends to drive continuous growth
- 2 to 5+ years of experience in specification sales, A&D, or related building materials industry
- Strong understanding of the Northern California design and construction market, particularly within the Bay Area
- Active involvement in industry organizations such as AIA (American Institute of Architects), IIDA (International Interior Design Association), ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), or NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association)
- Proven ability to build relationships, influence specifications, and grow market share
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms, with Salesforce experience preferred
