The branch serves a diverse customer base that includes residential builders, renovators, and commercial contractors. They are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead a dynamic sales team, drive growth, and strengthen the company’s market position in a competitive industry.

Role Overview

The Sales Manager will oversee a team of sales professionals, including contract sales representatives, sales coordinators, and counter sales staff. Reporting directly to senior leadership, this individual will be responsible for delivering annual targets, developing team capability, and implementing structure and accountability across the sales function.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep knowledge of the lumber and building materials sector, strong commercial instincts, and the interpersonal skills to lead, coach, and inspire a team through a period of renewal and growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales professionals, including contract, inside, and counter sales.
  • Drive a culture of accountability through structured meetings, pipeline management, and performance reviews.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and sales reporting to ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Implement consistent sales processes and prepare the team for CRM adoption and utilization.
  • Provide technical and product expertise in lumber and building materials to support sales execution.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Partner with senior leadership to refine structure, strengthen the sales function, and support overall business growth.
  • Represent the company with professionalism at all times, promoting trust and long-term relationships with customers and industry partners.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven leadership experience in lumber and building materials sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, drive accountability, and implement structured sales processes.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills; able to balance strategic thinking with day-to-day execution.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L responsibility (asset).
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and sales pipeline management (asset).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to motivate and build trust with diverse teams.
  • Reputation for integrity, credibility, and strong industry knowledge.
