DMC Recruitment Group is partnering with a well-established steel fabrication and machining manufacturer supporting complex heavy industrial projects across the United States.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a Quality professional who understands fabrication, welding, inspection, and the realities of a production environment. The organization has a long-standing reputation for quality, safety, and delivery performance and is seeking a Quality Manager to lead and strengthen quality processes across the operation.
This role is ideal for someone coming from:
- Heavy steel fabrication
- Structural steel
- Pressure vessel or ASME environments
- Industrial manufacturing
- Welding and machining operations
- Oil & gas or energy fabrication
- Lead quality activities across fabrication and machining operations
- Supervise and mentor Quality Inspectors and shop-floor quality personnel
- Oversee weld quality processes, inspections, and documentation
- Maintain welder qualification records, continuity logs, and training documentation
- Support and improve quality systems, procedures, and shop processes
- Review fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and specifications
- Collaborate closely with production, project management, and customers to resolve quality-related issues
- Coordinate inspection activities and support internal and external audits
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, workflow, and compliance
- Maintain quality manuals, SOPs, and work instructions
- 5+ years of experience within steel fabrication, welding, machining, or heavy industrial manufacturing
- Previous experience in a Quality leadership, QA/QC, or Lead Inspector role
- Strong understanding of welding inspection and fabrication quality standards
- Experience working with AWS D1.1 and/or ASME Section IX environments
- Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and tolerances
- Familiarity with NDT methods and coordination of inspection activities
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities
- CWI certification is an asset, but not required for candidates with strong practical experience
