Building Materials
British Columbia Lower Mainland, BC
$90K Base + Commission | Profit Sharing | Pension + Benefits
Our client, a well-established and recognized manufacturer in the building materials industry, is looking for an Architectural Sales Representative to join their team in British Columbia.
We are looking for someone who enjoys being in the market, meeting people, developing relationships and creating opportunities.
This role is really about being present in the market. Understanding what projects are coming, building relationships with architects, consultants, engineers and specification writers, getting involved early in the process and helping customers find the right solutions for their projects.
You don't need to be an engineer, but you need to be curious, comfortable learning technical products and confident enough to build relationships with industry professionals.
The Role
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships within the architectural and specification community throughout BC.
A big part of your role will be getting in front of architects, consultants and engineers, doing Lunch & Learns, presentations and product demonstrations, discussing upcoming projects and helping them understand the different solutions available to them.
The goal is simple: build relationships, increase specifications and create opportunities for the sales team.
You will also work closely with the broader sales organization. When you get involved in a project or secure a specification, you will make sure the information gets into the right hands so the team can follow the opportunity all the way through.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and develop relationships with architects, consultants, engineers, specification writers and owners
- Promote the company's products and solutions and increase specifications throughout the territory
- Identify projects early and understand where the opportunities are in the market
- Conduct Lunch & Learns, presentations, demonstrations and educational sessions
- Become a trusted resource for customers when they have questions about products, systems or applications
- Follow projects and specifications and work closely with the sales team to turn opportunities into business
- Develop new relationships while continuing to grow existing ones
- Stay connected to what is happening in the BC construction market
- Attend industry events, association meetings and trade shows
- Gather information from the field about projects, competitors, trends and customer needs
- Maintain project and opportunity information in Salesforce
- Work closely with sales, technical and internal teams
- Experience in building materials, construction or a related industry
- A dynamic, confident and relationship-driven salesperson who enjoys being in the market
- Comfortable learning technical products and presenting solutions to customers
- Proactive, organized and able to manage a territory independently
- A strong team player who communicates and collaborates well internally
- Someone curious, motivated and genuinely interested in developing relationships and growing the business
- $90,000 base salary, depending on experience
- Commission
- Profit sharing
- Competitive pension plan
- Flexible benefits
- Telemedicine
- Paid time off during the holidays
- On-site gym
- Good work-life balance
- A strong and collaborative team environment
If you are motivated, curious and want to join a strong organization where you can build your network, develop your territory and have a real impact on the business, we would love to hear from you.
