Our client, a well-established and growing organization within the building materials sector, is seeking an Technical Sales Representative to manage a territory across Alberta and British Columbia.
This is a technical, project-driven sales role working directly with General Contractors, builders, and project teams across industrial, commercial, agricultural and some residential construction.

You'll be working directly with contractors and project teams, supporting real projects from bid to build, and selling solutions—not commodity products.

Our client, a well-established and growing organization within the building materials sector, is seeking an Technical Sales Representative to manage a territory across Alberta and British Columbia.
This is a technical, project-driven sales role working directly with General Contractors, builders, and project teams across industrial, commercial, agricultural and some residential construction.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage and grow an existing base of contractor and project accounts (≈70%)
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities and relationships (≈30%)
- Review drawings and complete material takeoffs to support project quoting
- Provide technical product guidance and application support
- Engage early in the project cycle to help influence product selection and outcomes
- Travel across the territory to maintain relationships and drive growth (~60-75%)
- 5+ years of experience in building materials, construction products, or building systems
- Experience working with contractors in project-based environments
- Ability to read blueprints, interpret specs, and perform takeoffs
- Strong relationship management skills with a farmer mindset and growth focus
- Proven ability to manage a large territory independently
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable in a technical sales role
- Willingness to travel across Eastern & Northern Ontario (~60-70%)
- Experience with building envelope, insulation, cladding, waterproofing, or related systems
- Exposure to tenders, estimating, or specification-driven sales
- Experience across industrial, commercial, or agricultural construction
- $90K - $100K base + monthly commission
- Mileage reimbursement
