TECHNICAL OUTSIDE SALES

$90K-$120K+ (base plus uncapped earning potential) + Excellent Benefits + RRSP

Our client focusses on Commercial & Industrial Markets working with EPCs and Major Projects supplying solutions for building infrastructure.

We are looking for a TECHNICAL OUTSIDE SALES to lead industrial market growth in the Prairie Provinces.

If you have the ability to develop strong relationships and excel at building influence early in the project cycle with engineering firms and GCs, and love to be involved in projects from concept to execution — you will thrive here.

Responsibilities
  • Prospect and develop new business through a strategic approach
  • Strategically promote specifications of products at industrial users and consulting engineer levels
  • Identify all EPC and Specifiers in each region, focusing on:
    • current product demand
    • distribution channel analysis
    • economic and regional trends
    • market pricing
  • Develop strong relationships and engage a network of EPC's and Major Project Build Specifiers and obtain product specifications
  • Research and develop relationships for relevant long term projects
  • Keep Project Managers apprised of project developments in each region
  • Liaise with Inside Sales & Account Managers on project management details and strategies
  • Work closely with counterparts across regions on strategic market direction, competitive products and pricing
  • Participate in trade shows
  • Stay up-to-date on capital investment projects, trends and opportunities
  • Review quotes and evaluate technical and commercial recommendations on project proposals
  • Liaise with vendor partners, operations, purchasing, PCs on each project bid to ensure success
  • Continuous education on sales strategies and account management principals
  • On-going development of product knowledge (including vendor training) and industry changes
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (MBA or advanced degree preferred) or industry experience
  • 3+ years experience working with EPCs, industrial end users, utilities or major infrastructure projects
  • Proven success influencing engineering specifications & capital project decisions
  • Strong analytical and commercial mindset — decisions backed by insight & data
  • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills
  • High initiative, strong professional presence, and a collaborative team approach
  • Proficiency with ERP/CRM tools and MS Office/Teams
