Structural Engineer Restoration

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an Intermediate Structural Restoration Engineer with 6-10 years of design experience to join our team. This individual will handle a variety of projects but be focused on restoration. The role will involve participation in all project phases, from proposals to design and construction. A typical day may include developing structural design and project documents, meeting with clients, site visits for field review/investigations, and collaborating with teammates. This is a full-time position that allows for some remote work and flexibility.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
- Engineering degree from a recognized university and licensed with the PEO.
- 6-10 years of design experience in structural engineering.
- Experience designingrestoration for a variety of project types.
- Working knowledge of CSA S6, the MTO Structural Manual, and current industry design practices; bonus for previous experience designing with CSI Bridge, Midas Civil, or SAP2000.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively through hand sketches or computer-assisted drafting.
- Solid understanding of the Ontario Building Code and relevant CSA design standards.
- Proven experience in both 2D, 3D, and BIM design/modelling software programs; working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD is ideal, along with experience in finite element analysis.
- Capability to carry out structural design and calculations by hand and using structural analysis software such as Woodworks, ETABS, SAFE, MASS, Solid Works, and RISA.
- Creative problem solver with strong interpersonal skills.
- Relationship builder and team player who is open-minded and collaborative.
- Ability to manage various projects, tasks, and stakeholders simultaneously.
