THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for the Showroom General Manager position at our newly renovated Edmonton showroom is a passionate and experienced professional in the design industry with a strong background in sales or management. They should possess a natural talent for leadership and team development, with a keen eye for design and excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate will be responsible for driving the showroom's commercial success by working closely with Edmonton’s design professionals and retail clients, advising on residential, commercial, and hospitality projects. With a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in Interior Architecture, Design, Lighting Design, or Business Administration, the candidate should be organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in staying updated on industry trends. Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to meet or exceed sales targets, and proficiency in MS Office or Google Suite are essential for this role.
ABOUT THE ROLE- Take a lead role in merchandising the showroom by creating tasteful lighting and furniture displays
- Training and leading a team of Showroom Account Executives and other required support functions
- Welcoming showroom visitors and learning the reason behind their visit
- Helping people select and review products best suited to their project needs
- Communicating product features and benefits in an engaging manner
- Uphold showroom appearance by maintaining and upholding cleanliness, and organizational standards
- Developing clear and effective written proposals and quotations
- Connecting and following-up with customers through email, telephone, and in-person interactions
- Providing our Customer Service team with required information to resolve any product or delivery issues
- Participating in Product Knowledge sessions with our vendors
- Participating and organizing showroom events as needed
- Supported by Chief Operations Officer, Vice President of Sales, Regional Sales Manager, plus Marketing and Accounting Teams.
- Flexibility is required as professional functions/trade shows and other activities may require temporary changes to typical working hours.
