As a Project Manager, you will be at the forefront of our heavy civil construction projects, ensuring that everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating in alignment with core company values.
- Committing to developing a zero-injury culture and achieving safety goals.
- Anticipating project needs to prevent delays and ensure deliverables and plans are prepared.
- Developing and monitoring resource requirements.
- Coordinating with subcontractors and major suppliers to prepare contracts.
- Collaborating with management to monitor the financial aspects of contracts.
- Monitoring construction progress and updating management.
- Supporting opportunity pursuits and bid estimation.
- Providing technical advice and proactively resolving problems.
- Mentoring and leading on-site operations staff.
- Maintaining knowledge of health, safety, and environmental protection practices as they apply to construction processes.
- Evaluating workmanship to uphold quality standards.
- Identifying and solving constructability issues.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by management.
- Traveling to job sites as required.
- Proficient in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing out projects.
- Knowledgeable in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Skilled in leading and motivating multidisciplinary teams.
- Capable of working independently and in team environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive in anticipating and addressing project risks and challenges.
- Experienced in establishing and enforcing quality control measures.
- Knowledgeable in construction disciplines, cost control, scheduling, and safety regulations.
- Familiar with health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering or Construction Management.
- 5+ years of Project Management experience.
- Valid class 5 driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and Bluebeam.
- Must have experience in Heavy Civil Construction, specifically mining, hydroelectric and/or oil & gas
