Annie is an experienced Recruiter with a proven track record of success within the Architecture, Design, and Construction industry. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA.Annie also has 14 years of experience in Vancouver, BC as a Commercial Interior Designer, specializing in Workplace and Financial Institutions. Our Client is a premiere Design-Build firm that specializes in Tenant Improvement throughout the lower mainland. Catering to many of BC’s top commercial and corporate businesses, they bring a personalized, innovative, and unique approach to the art of space and transformation.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Our Client is rapidly growing their close-knit and talented team. The ideal candidate is able to jump right in and get started. Our Client's team work in a diverse office, have team building events throughout the year, weekly staff meetings to manage workload, and consistent employee appreciation activities.

They are seeking a Senior Construction/Project Manager to take a leadership role within the office, as well as on construction sites, working to ensure that project timelines and budgets are met. This individual will work closely with the designers, other construction manager(s) and the management team on small to large scale projects. The ideal candidate will have worked as a construction manager in a previous role, in the Tenant Improvement sector and has strong leadership skills & attention to detail. Business development skills along side deep connections to the Vancouver marketplace would be considered a significant asset.
  
ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Oversee all on-site construction activities through managing relationships with clients, landlords, city employees, trades, and third-party consultants.
  • Create, implement, and oversee construction schedules to ensure on-time completion.
  • Manage client communication for all schedule and budgetary changes.
  • Develop budgets and ensure on-budget delivery to clients.
  • Review architectural/design and engineering drawings ensuring all specs are followed by trades and consultants on-site. Ensure quality standards are met.
  • Liaise with all Design Team members, and any other consultants working on the project.
  • Scheduling of all required inspections and deficiency walk-throughs throughout the projects.
  • Identify, mitigate and track recurring construction issues.
  • Ensure detailed documentation and reporting of project start-up, schedule, budget, invoices, change orders, deficiencies, and final walkthrough.
  • Respond efficiently and effectively to work delays, emergencies and other project disruptions.
  • Ensure that all health and safety standards are implemented and followed on-site.
  • Hire and supervise the activities of subcontractors and monitor subordinate staff
  
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, architecture, project management or related field.
  • PMP Designation. (preferred)
  • 8-10 years experience as a project manager, ideally in a Commercial Interior construction project manager capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of BC Building Code, municipal bylaws and other regulations, construction methods & technologies, and an ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for quality.
  • Comfortable on construction sites.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of PM software, MS Project, Excel and operational management software.
