THE OPPORTUNITY
You’ll play a key role in translating design concepts into detailed, buildable solutions, supporting projects from design development through construction documentation and contract administration.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the preparation of detailed drawings and coordinated construction documents across all project phases
- Developing construction details, with a strong focus on building envelope performance
- Applying local building codes and construction knowledge to resolve technical challenges
- Coordinating with consultants and project teams to maintain accuracy and consistency
- Supporting contract administration and addressing construction-phase questions
- Mentoring team members and strengthening the studio’s technical expertise
You’re a technically strong, self-motivated professional with a keen design sense and the ability to guide others. Your qualifications include:
- A degree or diploma in Architectural and Building Technology from an accredited institution
- 8+ years of relevant Canadian experience ideally with healthcare and institutional project work
- Extensive knowledge of construction detailing, working drawings, and contract administration
- Strong understanding of building envelope systems; institutional project experience is an asset
- Thorough knowledge of local building codes and construction methods
- Strong communication, consultant coordination, and team leadership skills
- Proficiency in Revit, with experience in SketchUp, Photoshop, Lumion, and/or Enscape
