SENIOR ARCHITECT/ASSOCIATE

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Architect / Associate to join our client’s downtown Vancouver studio. This role is ideal for a seasoned architectural professional with strong design leadership, proven project delivery experience, and a natural ability to build and maintain client relationships. The studio focuses on a mix of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects, offering the opportunity to work on some of Vancouver’s most dynamic developments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in leading project teams, shaping design outcomes, and supporting business development efforts. Responsibilities include overseeing concept and schematic design, managing project delivery through all phases, mentoring intermediate and junior staff, and working closely with clients, consultants, and municipal authorities. Strong communication skills, leadership maturity, and a collaborative mindset are essential in this role.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution; AIBC Registration or eligibility required
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Canada with a portfolio highlighting residential and commercial work
- Demonstrated experience leading complex projects from early design through construction
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and manage client expectations
- Business development capability, including participation in proposals, presentations, and relationship building
- Excellent design sensibility supported by strong technical knowledge of BC codes, building systems, and permitting processes
- Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering/visualization tools such as Enscape or Lumion
- Work within a progressive, design-driven environment that values creativity and collaboration
