Are you an experienced accounting professional with a passion for numbers, analysis, and process improvement? Our client, a legacy brand in the manufacturing industry (non automotive) is currently seeking a Senior Financial Analyst (Financial Accounting & Reporting) to join their head office finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your contributions will directly impact the organization’s success.
Reporting to the Finance Director, the SFA will take on a variety of accounting and reporting tasks. From general accounting and month-end duties to in-depth financial analysis, you’ll ensure data accuracy, streamline processes, and provide meaningful insights to management. Additionally, the SFA will play a key role in preparing critical financial reports. This position is ideal for someone who thrives on detail, values collaboration, and enjoys making a measurable difference and improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform month-end duties, including preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and maintaining prepaid schedules.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts, analyze sales and marketing expenses, and assist with year-end preparation for external auditors.
- Partners with other departments to gain and understanding of financial results
- Collaborate with department teams to ensure ERP system data accuracy and resolve data errors.
- Provide expense analysis reports (Actual vs Budget) and develop reporting structures to improve financial insights.
- Prepare and analyze commission and rebate reports, and support operational reporting processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in data collection and reporting.
What We’re Looking For
- We’re seeking candidates with 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, reporting, and analysis, ideally within a manufacturing or product based business environment.
- Designated CPA or a CPA finalist designation attainment is required.
- Strong technical skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP systems
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential, as is a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
