Responsibilities:
  • Support the of planning and scheduling on the project to ensure project teams optimization
  • Schedule all reactive and planned works to appropriate resources, focusing on meeting all work plans within specified timelines
  • Coordinate and update schedules with actual progress and forecast remaining durations, project milestones, and completion dates
  • Prepare and issue schedule analysis narratives and reports including recommendations for corrective actions to be used by project teams to manage the work
  • Apply practical field experience with planning and scheduling knowledge to identify challenges to the project schedule and suggest mitigation plans and prepare recovery schedules
  • Accurately record all job-related information on the appropriate IT systems
  • Review subcontract schedule status and provide Management with input on subcontract performance
  • Prepare schedule risk analysis to forecast contingencies
  • Promptly resolve issues with specific projects, jobs, clients or
  • Ensure full Sentinel competencies and audit trails are maintained and evidenced where
  • Follow project safety policies and
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that may result in failure of service delivery, or risk to health and safety, or the environment.
  • Carry out what-if schedule analysis for different options or to assess impacts of certain events
  • Carry out delay analysis for claims, review and recommend on extension of time claims or requests
 
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Technology or a combination of equivalent skills and field
  • Excellent written, verbal, communication and organizational skills, French an asset
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in similar positions in planning
  • Advanced Primavera 6, MS Project and Excel skills
  • Experience with heavy civil, design build or P3 construction projects, an asset;
  • Understand transit systems
  • Apply the principles of project controls to planning/scheduling work processes
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic business environment
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience with complex projects or programs as a project resource and/or
  • Ability to take a leading role in project scheduling for a complex project or
  • Ability to identify problems within existing project controls’ systems and highlight/ implement
