We are seeking a skilled Sales & Design Support Specialist to join our client’s dynamic business development team, focusing on the specification of natural stone masonry products. This is a key position that blends administrative, technical, and consultative sales support, working closely with architects, designers, contractors, and distributors within the construction and manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-driven, and passionate about customer engagement and product specification.
  • Consultative Sales Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with professionals in the design and construction community, including architects, interior designers, homebuilders, developers, dealers, and masonry contractors.
  • Budgeting and Technical Support: Prepare budget pricing, technical packages, product visuals, and documentation, with a focus on best practices, applications, value engineering, codes, and standards.
  • Design Centre Participation: Collaborate within the Design Centre, providing product visualization options for homebuilders and homeowners.
  • Proposal Development: Create compelling proposals to support product specifications.
  • Event Representation: Represent the company at trade shows, seminars, and industry events.
  • Presentations and Training: Lead lunch & learns and product knowledge (PK) sessions for the design/construction community.
  • Strategic Involvement: Participate actively in weekly meetings and strategic planning sessions with the business development team.
  • Additional Support: Provide other administrative, sales, or technical support as required.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Educational Background: Degree in Environmental Design, Architecture, Architectural Technology, or related field.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport across diverse audiences.
  • Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills with a solutions-focused approach.
  • Organization & Administration: Highly organized with strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-Motivation & Professionalism: Demonstrates a proactive work ethic, confidence, and professionalism in all aspects.
  • Problem Solving: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Construction Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Time Management: Excellent ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Strong understanding of diverse perspectives and practices within the industry.
  • Additional Assets: Knowledge of AutoCAD, graphic arts, design software, and social media skills.
