Overview
This role is responsible for managing residential and light-commercial construction projects from the initial quote request through material ordering and ongoing customer support. The position blends technical estimating, customer service, project coordination, and sales support to ensure a seamless experience for homeowners, builders, and contractors.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-focused, and comfortable owning the full estimating and ordering process while building strong relationships with customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Project Coordination
  • Receive and review quote requests from homeowners, contractors, and builders.
  • Complete full takeoffs, accurately quantifying materials and labour for each project.
  • Prepare detailed, competitive estimates using industry-standard software and in-store tools.
  • Place and schedule material orders in alignment with project timelines and site requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and proactively follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and identify additional opportunities.
Customer Experience & Sales Support
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality service across in-person, phone, and email interactions.
  • "Own" the customer experience from first conversation through project completion.
  • Conduct consultations to understand project needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, and retail customers.
  • Support sales growth by identifying cross-sell opportunities across multiple product categories.
Internal Collaboration
  • Work closely with site, construction, and installation leaders to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of project orders.
  • Follow internal policies, safety standards, and asset-protection procedures.
  • Participate in team initiatives and contribute to operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Operational & Technical Excellence
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of building materials, construction trends, and applicable building code requirements.
  • Help execute in-store merchandising and promotional activities tied to project materials and services.
  • Manage pricing, margins, and expenses to support budget targets.
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in home building, construction supply, or a related building-materials environment; prior sales experience is an asset.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans, and drawings.
  • Proficiency in quantity takeoffs and building-materials estimating.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple deadlines, and comfortable working independently.
  • Strong attention to detail with accuracy as a core value.
  • Valid driver's licence; ability to perform routine physical tasks related to construction material handling.
  • Flexible availability, including some evenings or weekends as required.
