Position Overview:
As the Design Principal, you will spearhead the creative vision of our most prestigious projects, setting the tone for design excellence while ensuring a seamless fusion of function, form, and sustainability. You will bring a wealth of experience, with over 15 years in the architecture industry, and will be responsible for steering the firm's design strategy, nurturing talent, and fostering relationships with high-profile clients. Registered and licensed with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA), you will ensure that our work not only meets the highest regulatory standards but also sets new benchmarks for architectural innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creative vision and design direction for large-scale, complex architectural projects, ensuring aesthetic, functional, and sustainable excellence.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align design strategies with business development goals, ensuring the firm remains competitive in Toronto’s dynamic architecture landscape.
- Mentor and inspire a team of designers, architects, and project managers, fostering an environment of continuous learning and creative exploration.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, ensuring that project designs meet the evolving needs of communities and urban spaces.
- Drive design discussions and presentations with clients, establishing the firm’s reputation as an industry leader in delivering iconic, innovative structures.
- Oversee all phases of the design process, from conceptual development through project completion, ensuring adherence to budget, timelines, and regulatory standards (OAA).
- Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously integrating new ideas and approaches into the firm’s design ethos.
- Advocate for sustainable design practices and ensure projects meet or exceed environmental and energy performance standards.
- Registered and licensed with the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA).
- 15+ years of professional experience in architecture and design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale projects in the institutional, commercial, public or residential sectors.
- Expertise in design excellence, sustainable practices, and regulatory frameworks in Ontario.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both clients and teams effectively.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a diversity of high-profile architectural projects.
