A leading supplier of building materials with a strong presence across North America is seeking a motivated Outside Sales Representative to join its team in the Mid-North Vancouver Island region. With over 75 years of industry experience and a commitment to quality, service, and safety, this organization offers a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to grow within a respected company.
 
About the Role:
This role focuses on driving sales in core product categories including drywall, insulation, steel studs, and ceiling systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business, nurturing existing client relationships, and contributing to the company’s reputation within the construction and building materials community.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through site visits, timely follow-ups, and personalized service.
  • Drive business development efforts by identifying and pursuing new opportunities within the territory.
  • Prepare and manage quotes, enter delivery orders, and coordinate special orders.
  • Forecast customer material needs in line with project timelines.
  • Represent the company at industry events and community functions.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed on job sites and in all company facilities.
  • Participate in regular inventory counts.
  • Support and collaborate with the regional sales manager and team.
What You Bring:
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry and core building products (drywall, insulation, steel studs, ceiling systems).
  • Familiarity with building codes and how they affect products and services.
  • Ability to read and understand specifications and construction drawings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of an organization.
  • A track record of building long-term customer and vendor relationships.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • A results-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with keen attention to detail.
