Compensation: $70,000 - 80,000 + Uncapped Commission + Profit Sharing + Car Allowance + Benefits

The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established and highly respected player in the building materials distribution space, known for strong market presence, operational excellence, and long-standing customer relationships.
They are looking to add a driven Outside Sales Representative to their team—someone who thrives in a relationship-based sales environment while still bringing a hunter mentality to grow market share.
This is an opportunity to step into a high-potential territory, work alongside a strong internal team, and build long-term partnerships with contractors and industry stakeholders.

The Role
As an Outside Sales Representative, you will own and grow a defined territory, focusing on both account development and new business acquisition. You'll be the face of the business in the market—working closely with contractors, builders, and industry partners to deliver solutions and drive revenue.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and grow an existing book of business while actively identifying and developing new opportunities
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with contractors, builders, and key decision-makers
  • Conduct regular in-person customer visits across your territory
  • Provide product recommendations, pricing, and tailored solutions based on customer needs
  • Prepare and deliver professional quotes and proposals
  • Collaborate with inside sales, operations, and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Stay on top of market trends, competitor activity, and pricing intelligence
  • Track activity, pipeline, and performance metrics through CRM/reporting tools
  • Support customer issue resolution and ensure a high level of service post-sale
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and customer engagement initiatives
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of outside sales experience (building materials or construction industry strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to grow a territory through both relationship management and new business development
  • Strong understanding of contractor-driven sales environments
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and results-driven
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with internal teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
