Our client, a well-established and highly respected player in the building materials manufacturing space, is looking to add a Western Canada Sales Manager to lead and grow its regional operations.
With a strong footprint across Canada and a diversified product offering within lumber and specialty wood products, the organization has built long-standing relationships with dealers, contractors, and key industry partners.
The Opportunity
This role offers full ownership of a Western Canadian business unit exceeding $100M in annual revenue, including complete P&L responsibility.
You will oversee 5 distribution centers and lead a team of approximately 70-80 employees, playing a key role in both strategic direction and day-to-day execution.
What This Role Really Needs
We are specifically looking for someone who comes from the industry and understands it at a granular level:
- Strong knowledge of lumber, wood products, and building materials distribution
- Deep understanding of the LBM and dealer channel
- Experience working with buying groups and group purchasing organizations
- Someone who knows how to build, maintain, and grow dealer relationships across Western Canada
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the performance of a $100M+ regional business unit (full P&L ownership)
- Manage and develop a multi-site team of 70-80 employees
- Oversee operations across 5 distribution centers
- Drive growth through strong relationships with LBM dealers, independents, and major accounts
- Expand presence within buying groups and strategic partnerships
- Align pricing, margins, and inventory strategies with market conditions
- Identify and execute on regional growth opportunities
- Stay closely connected to market trends, competitors, and customer needs
- 10+ years of experience in lumber, LBM, or building materials distribution
- Proven experience managing regional sales and operations
- Strong commercial acumen with P&L responsibility
- Experience with multi-branch or distribution environments
- Well-established network within the Western Canadian market
- Leadership style that is both strategic and hands-on
