Our Client is an industry leader in the drywall, roofing and siding business and is looking to bring on a leader for their siding division based in Edmonton, Alberta!

Operations Manager - Siding
is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operations of the siding division, driving its growth and ensuring seamless project execution. This role focuses on managing day-to-day activities, leading Project Managers, Site Supervisors, Labor teams, and Estimators, while implementing strategies to enhance productivity, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

With an emphasis on residential and commercial projects, the Operations Manager will collaborate with Architects, Specifiers, Developers, Contractors, Engineers, and Designers to support project requirements and position the company as a leader in siding solutions. As the primary liaison with vendor representatives, the role ensures strong partnerships to achieve competitive pricing and exceptional quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
  • Oversee all aspects of the siding division's operations, including scheduling, inventory management, custom order processing, and project coordination.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance efficiency, ensure on-time delivery, and exceed client expectations.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards across all projects and worksites.
  • Manage vendor relationships, ensuring timely procurement of materials at competitive prices.
Project Management
  • Supervise the planning and execution of siding projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project coordinators, site supervisors, and labor teams to ensure smooth project workflows.
  • Oversee estimators in preparing accurate take-offs and quotes for siding projects.
  • Address project challenges proactively, resolving issues to maintain client satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Strategic Growth
  • Contribute to the division’s growth by identifying new business opportunities and areas for market expansion.
  • Collaborate with senior management to align operational goals with overall business objectives.
  • Drive innovation within the division by exploring new products, technologies, and methods to enhance competitiveness.
Requirements
Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in operations management, construction, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Extensive experience in project management, preferably within the building materials, siding, or construction industry.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Solid understanding of construction processes, siding products, and building methods is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to work effectively with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
  • Proficient in MS Office, CRM, and ERP systems.
  • Highly organized with strong time management and problem-solving skills.
Education and Training
  • Post-secondary education in business, construction management, or a related field preferred.
  • Formal training in operations, project management, or construction is an asset.
