Operations Manager – HVAC Manufacturing

We’re seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead day-to-day activities at our HVAC manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing all production departments, improving operational efficiency, driving quality output, and leading a team of approximately 35 staff through a group of department supervisors.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, process-driven leader with a strong background in HVAC, mechanical, or sheet metal manufacturing. You bring experience managing multidisciplinary teams and implementing production workflows that balance quality, safety, and on-time delivery.

What You’ll Be Responsible For: Operations & Production Oversight
  • Manage end-to-end plant operations to meet production targets, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Work closely with department supervisors to ensure smooth coordination across functions.
  • Identify and resolve process bottlenecks, ensuring lean, efficient manufacturing practices.
  • Maintain strict compliance with workplace safety and industry regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to support continuous improvement.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Mentor and support supervisors and team leads to build a high-performing, motivated workforce.
  • Conduct regular team meetings focused on safety, production updates, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in hiring and onboarding key roles, including a Testing Team Lead and Quality Control Technician.
Team Overview

You’ll lead a team of approximately 35 staff through direct supervision of department supervisors across welding, fabrication, assembly, electrical, refrigeration, shipping, and other key production areas.
You’ll also support the hiring and onboarding of a Testing Team Lead and Quality Control Technician to round out the leadership team.

Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
  • Oversee materials planning and inventory control to avoid production delays.
  • Partner with purchasing and logistics to manage vendor relationships and improve cost efficiency.
  • Ensure inventory levels align with current and upcoming production demands.
Process Optimization & Cost Management
  • Drive lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across all departments.
  • Explore automation and equipment upgrades to boost efficiency and reduce labor hours.
  • Track and manage operational budgets related to labor, materials, and capital expenses.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in operations or production management.
  • Industry experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, sheet metal, or related manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methods.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production management software.
  • Familiarity with HVAC standards and processes is a significant asset.
