Our client is seeking a National Account Manager to support their continued growth across Canada. This is a newly created role.
The Scope
This position will drive sales growth and strengthen the brand’s position nationally through the management and acquisition of key relationships across major retailers, buying groups, and specialty flooring banners.
Supported by a deeply established platform, the role will be focused on expanding existing accounts, increasing market share, and supporting the next phase of growth. It offers the opportunity to step into a set of active partnerships, apply your experience with national retail and buying group customers, and contribute to a business with strong product, supply, and capacity to scale.
For someone with a background in flooring, building materials, or related products sold through home improvement channels, this is a clear path to leverage existing relationships, cement new partnerships, grow key accounts, and develop internally as the business continues to invest in its future.
The Opportunity
The National Account Manager will own the national account strategy across Canada, with responsibility for strengthening and growing key retail and buying group relationships. This includes managing major big box DIY accounts, expanding share of store, and supporting the brand’s development across both in-store and e-commerce platforms.
A key part of the role will be leading the development and expansion of private label and white box programs for mass retail partners where appropriate. The business already has a strong track record of delivering successful on-shelf programs, and the focus now is on building upon that success, identifying new opportunities, and driving incremental revenue across core accounts.
The National Account Manager will also be accountable for overall commercial performance across relevant accounts, including revenue growth, margin improvement, and deeper customer penetration. This involves developing and executing account plans, leading negotiations around pricing and programs, and expanding product listings across mass DIY retail, home improvement chains, and relevant buying groups, while working closely with internal teams across supply chain, marketing, and operations.
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone with proven experience managing national accounts on behalf of a manufacturer or supplier within flooring, building materials, or closely related DIY and home improvement products.
The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of retail programs, pricing structures, and product positioning, along with the ability to plan, forecast, and deliver against commercial targets. A structured and organized approach is vital, as is the ability to work cross functionally within a growing business.
The role requires someone comfortable managing relationships at the head office level and willing to travel across Canada as required.
