Job Title: Logistics Supervisor

About the Role: 
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Logistics Supervisor to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will oversee our logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management, while leading a team of dedicated professionals. This role requires a strong problem-solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of optimizing our supply chain processes.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the receiving, shipping, and inventory teams
  • Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to improve operational performance.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of the organization, set clear KPIs for team members.
  • Implement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions, conduct safety gap analysis, incident reporting and safety talks
  • Negotiate contracts with carriers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation services. Work with brokerages, LTL, FTL, courier shipments as required.
  • Implement cycle counts and flag of any inventory discrepancies of finished goods.
  • Provide assistance in warehouse space utilization by designing facility layouts to achieve maximum storage efficiency
  • Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel. Implement disciplinary procedures as set forth by organization
  • Implement and maintain logistics systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Prepare and analyze performance reports to identify areas for improvement
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
  2. 5+ years of experience in logistics supervision, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  5. Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
  6. Experience in contract negotiation with carriers
  7. Proficiency in logistics management software(Epicor) and Microsoft Office Suite
  8. Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements
  9. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
  10. Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills
