We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Logistics Supervisor to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will oversee our logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management, while leading a team of dedicated professionals. This role requires a strong problem-solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of optimizing our supply chain processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the receiving, shipping, and inventory teams
- Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to improve operational performance.
- Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities of the organization, set clear KPIs for team members.
- Implement appropriate safety guidelines and investigate injuries or unsafe conditions, conduct safety gap analysis, incident reporting and safety talks
- Negotiate contracts with carriers to ensure cost-effective and reliable transportation services. Work with brokerages, LTL, FTL, courier shipments as required.
- Implement cycle counts and flag of any inventory discrepancies of finished goods.
- Provide assistance in warehouse space utilization by designing facility layouts to achieve maximum storage efficiency
- Select, train, motivate, and evaluate assigned personnel. Implement disciplinary procedures as set forth by organization
- Implement and maintain logistics systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Prepare and analyze performance reports to identify areas for improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in logistics supervision, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
- Experience in contract negotiation with carriers
- Proficiency in logistics management software(Epicor) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills
