Annie is an experienced Recruiter with a proven track record of success within the Architecture, Design, and Construction industry. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA.Annie also has 14 years of experience in Vancouver, BC as a Commercial Interior Designer, specializing in Workplace and Financial Institutions. With Annie’s experience and well-developed network of industry professionals in both Commercial and Residential sectors, she not only has the technical design knowledge, hands-on project experience, she also has the deep-rooted connections within the market needed to develop exceptional client and candidate relationships.Annie puts her design expertise and industry network to use on a variety of search engagements in the Architecture and Design industry. ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our Client specializes in lighting design, procurement, electrical cost consulting, and value engineering, with over 25 years of industry experience. They support architects, interior designers, electrical engineers, contractors, and developers by offering innovative design services for areas beyond the scope of traditional electrical engineering. Through close collaboration with clients and suppliers, our Client ensures accurate budgeting and efficient project delivery. Known for their expertise in high-end, specification-grade luminaires, our Client operates in Vancouver, Los Angeles, and Calgary, serving projects across Western Canada, Ontario, and the Western United States.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Our Client is seeking a Lighting Designer with a combination of education and experience in design with an interest to further expand their knowledge and passion for lighting. Your primary responsibility will be to provide lighting design lighting at our Client's Burnaby studio. You will have the opportunity to work closely within a group of 7 talented lighting professionals designing multi-faceted projects and learning more about the Commercial lighting design process while working in collaboration with various Architecture Design, Engineering and Project Management professionals from high-profile firms.
  • Provide lighting design for various projects
  • Design and collaborate with Senior Lighting Designer, Project Managers, Clients, and Lighting Industry Representatives
  • Coordinate and prepare lighting layouts, cost modelling, energy analysis, renderings and lighting level calculations
  • Experience in using AGi32, 2020 AutoCAD, and 2021 MS Office Suite, REVIT; provide lighting calculations in AGI32 or similar software
  • Provide renderings in SketchUp or similar software
  • Ability to assess workload, prioritize tasks, communicate with team members about design status, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Sitting/standing; computer use; occasional lifting of luminaires (50lbs)
  • Provide lighting specifications for electrical engineers, ID’s and architects
  • Discuss applications and installations with senior staff
  • Business development in the design community (Greater Vancouver including the valley)
  • Support clients for value engineering on previously designed and tendered projects
  • Participate in IES events and or education
  • Other tasks as assigned
WHAT YOU BRING
  • A Diploma or Certificate holder with an Electrical Engineering, Architectural and/or Interior Design background
  • Knowledge of lighting sources, applications, and design
  • Reading and interpreting Architectural, and Interior Design drawings
  • Basic knowledge of 2020 AutoCAD/Revit MEP
  • Excellent proficiency in AGi32, MS Office Suites, with emphasis using Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in SketchUp, Vectorworks; REVIT is an asset
  • Knowledge of LEED Canada Rating Systems
  • Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to perform teamwork and partnered work; English is essential
  • Experience with Commercial design an asset
  • Someone who has a courteous and professional manner, willingness to be trained, is self-motivated and takes initiative
