Our client is seeking a Commercial & Project Sales Estimator to focus on sales and estimating support for contractors, builders, and retail customers in the Interlake and surrounding region north of Winnipeg.

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Commercial & Project Sales Estimator to join their team in Teulon. The successful candidate will assist contractors, homebuilders, and retail customers by preparing material takeoffs, quoting complete building packages, and coordinating product deliveries to job sites.
The ideal candidate will have experience in building materials or construction, along with a practical and working knowledge of lumber, hardware, and related accessories. This position is well suited for a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional who enjoys combining technical estimating with sales and service responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate material takeoffs and cost estimates for residential and light commercial projects.
  • Manage special orders from quote to delivery, ensuring accuracy and timely fulfillment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, renovators, and homeowners.
  • Provide technical product advice and solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Liaise with suppliers to source materials and coordinate pricing.
  • Support the sales counter and assist with in-store customer service as needed.
  • Approve returns, issue credits, and ensure proper documentation for all transactions.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure delivery schedules are met.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, orders, and communications.

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in building materials, contractor sales, or construction estimating.
  • Hands-on knowledge of lumber, building materials, and accessories.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with a professional, personable approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency with estimating, quoting, or POS systems considered an asset.
  • Self-motivated and reliable, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $50,000-$60,000 + Commission
