Development Manager needed for a multi-family developer located in Vancouver!

Development Manager
Vancouver, BC
$120,000 to $130,000

DMC Recruitment Group is pleased to partner with our client, a respected multi-family developer located in Vancouver, BC, in the search for a Development Manager.

The Opportunity

You've learned how development projects get done. Now you're ready to have more say in how they get done.
This is a true Development Manager opportunity for someone ready to take greater ownership of projects across the Lower Mainland. You'll work across the development lifecycle, from feasibility and approvals through design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.

Rather than simply tracking the process, you'll be expected to drive it forward.

You'll have exposure to senior leadership, meaningful responsibility for project decisions, and the opportunity to manage consultants, municipalities, budgets, schedules, and development strategy.

What You'll Own
  • Drive development projects through approvals, design, permitting, construction, and completion.
  • Lead multidisciplinary consultant teams and keep deliverables moving.
  • Manage municipal approvals, including rezoning, Development Permits, and Building Permits.
  • Maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and development pro formas.
  • Identify risks early and bring practical recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Work closely with construction teams on design, constructability, value engineering, and project execution.
  • Support feasibility and due diligence on new development opportunities.
What You Bring
  • Approximately 5+ years of progressive real estate development experience.
  • Experience moving through Development Coordinator, Assistant Development Manager, Development Manager, or similar responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of the Lower Mainland / Metro Vancouver development environment.
  • Hands-on experience with municipal approvals and consultant management.
  • A working understanding of development pro formas, project budgets, construction costs, and feasibility.
  • The confidence to challenge consultants, solve problems, make recommendations, and take ownership.
  • A relevant degree in real estate, planning, architecture, engineering, construction, business, or a related field is preferred.
Why Consider It?

The biggest draw is ownership.

This is not a senior coordinator position dressed up with a Development Manager title. You'll be trusted to independently manage significant pieces of a project and, depending on complexity, take day-to-day responsibility for projects under the guidance of senior development leadership.

If you've spent the last several years building your technical foundation and are ready for more responsibility, this could be the right next move.

Salary: $120,000 to $130,000, based on experience and qualifications.
