Role responsibilities
- Custom homes & cottages: apply your hands-on design and detailing experience to produce precise, buildable drawings for bespoke programs and sensitive sites.
- Drawing production: create accurate construction drawings on schedule; maintain consistency and quality across projects.
- Revit/BIM support: utilize Revit to develop and edit models, families, and details; implement best practices and assist team members as needed.
- Project collaboration: coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and builders to ensure cohesive, buildable designs.
- Quality control: ensure alignment with design intent, codes, and sustainability targets; oversee details from concept through construction.
- Documentation: assemble construction documents, schedules, and coordinated drawings; support design development and permit packages.
- Ownership & teamwork: take responsibility for tasks, contribute proactively to the design process, and support a positive team culture.
- Essential: demonstrated experience designing and detailing custom homes and cottages (primary requirement).
- Architectural Technologist background: strong technical understanding of design development, detailing, and construction documentation.
- Revit/BIM: solid proficiency in a professional setting (modeling, families, schedules, views, and coordination).
- Education: technical diploma or university/college degree in architecture or related field.
- Experience: 5+ years in a Canadian architectural office, with preference for high-end residential projects.
- Sustainability: interest in sustainable design (Passive House, Net Zero, LEED) and building science.
- Building knowledge: solid understanding of building systems, construction detailing, and Ontario Building Code; familiarity with high-performance methods/products is a plus.
- Communication: clear written and verbal communication; strong collaboration across disciplines.
- Multitasking: able to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Mindset: proactive, detail-oriented, problem-solver with ownership and integrity.
