Location: Edmonton, AB (territory includes surrounding Northern Alberta market)

Compensation:
Base Salary: $70,000 to $75,000 + Car allowance and benefits

They are seeking a high energy Contractor Sales Representative with a true hunter mindset to drive net new business, penetrate key accounts, and build a strong pipeline of work.

This is a pure business development role focused on winning new accounts and securing project work. You will be responsible for opening doors, building relationships from the ground up, and identifying opportunities early in the construction cycle.
This role is best suited for someone who thrives on prospecting, is comfortable in the field, and knows how to turn conversations into long term business. There is strong internal support from design and production, allowing you to stay focused on selling and growing the territory.

Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Aggressively pursue new business with residential builders, framing contractors, and general contractors
- Identify and target high value accounts across Edmonton and Northern Alberta
- Prospect daily through job sites, cold outreach, and industry networking
- Build a strong pipeline of projects from early stage through to close
- Establish and grow a presence within a competitive market
- Convert new accounts into long term customers through consistent follow up and service
- Leverage early wins to expand within builder groups and contractor networks
- Position lumber, roof trusses, and engineered floor systems as integrated solutions
- Work closely with internal design teams to support accurate quoting and layouts
- Identify value engineering opportunities to win projects and differentiate from competitors
- Coordinate with design, estimating, and production teams to ensure alignment on timelines and deliverables
- Ensure smooth handoff from sales to operations once projects are secured
- Stay on top of market activity, competitor pricing, and builder pipelines
- Provide feedback to leadership on opportunities and gaps within the market
- Promote safe work practices when visiting job sites and interacting with customers
- Ensure alignment with company and customer safety standards
- 5 to 10 plus years of outside sales experience within lumber, building materials, or construction
- Proven hunter mentality with a track record of winning new business
- Strong relationships within the Edmonton contractor and builder market is a major asset
- Experience selling truss, EWP, or structural building components is preferred
- Comfortable spending the majority of time in the field prospecting and building relationships
- Highly self motivated with strong drive and accountability
- Strong communication, negotiation, and closing skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, growth oriented environment
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the territory
