About the Opportunity:
Our client, an established manufacturing leader in the metal supply (finished goods) industry, is currently seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to join their team. This NEWLY CREATED role is instrumental in identifying new business opportunities, developing and nurturing relationships with key prospects, and enhancing market presence in strategically identified segments (BUILDING SUPPLY & AGRICULTURAL SUPPLY DEALERS/DISTRIBUTORS/RETAILERS). Initial focus in the Oklahoma, Texas and South-Central region. Overnight travel required.
If you are a proactive business professional with a track record of driving growth and cultivating long-term client relationships within the AGRICULTURAL AND BUILDING SUPPLY sector, this is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in an underserved, and high-growth segment of the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Growth: Develop and execute a comprehensive territory plan to drive year-over-year growth, while maintaining current customer accounts.
- Market Expansion: Identify high-potential customers within strategic segments, aiming to introduce and manage 3-5 key new prospects annually.
- Account Management: Strengthen relationships with existing customers, achieving growth by increasing share of wallet and introducing new products.
- Negotiation & Contracting: Lead negotiations for quotations and long-term contracts with key clients to secure revenue growth and meet profitability objectives.
- Collaborative Excellence: Work cross-functionally with Business Development Managers, Engineers, Manufacturing Teams, and Inside Sales to align on customer needs and industry-leading product and service strategies.
- CRM & Business Tools: Utilize CRM systems and other tools to manage customer relationships and optimize resource use effectively.
- Marketing & Content Development: Contribute to the creation of sales presentations and other marketing collateral.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of business development, and market expansion through Building Material Supply, Lumber yards, and/or Agricultural Supply.
- Strong strategic thinking with a proven ability to drive territory management and deliver results.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a history of effective territory management.
- Based in the Oklahoma/Texas market and able to travel across the South-Central region as required for targeted market expansion.
- Analytical skills and the ability to prioritize in fast-paced environments.
