Tara grew up as part of large settler farming family in Northern Alberta would like to acknowledge that she is from and grew up on Treaty 8 territory. Indigenous peoples of this region have existed here since time immemorial, and we thank those who have gone before us for their care and stewardship of these lands. After completing her Diploma in Communications and Interior Design; her path took into the Recruitment world where she gained around 8 years of experience before joining the corporate sector as a Program and Project Manager in a large Oil and Gas Company before joining her husband’s contracting company as an Interior Designer and Operations Manager for the last 7 years. As a result, she developed a large network of industry professionals in the Building Materials space and has both the technical understanding of the design and construction processes as well as an active network and deep-rooted connections within the industry. The combination of Tara’s education, experience and passion for Design and Building Materials space fuels her goals to develop further relationships with her clients and candidates and her focus on developing specifically in the industries of design and building materials. Tara has been married for 21 years and has two daughters: one in University and one on High School. Together they have two cats and a dog! Our client is seeking a new A&D Sales Specialist in the Greater Toronto area (GTA). As an A&D Sales Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to proactively build and maintain strong relationships with top-tier architects, interior designers, and specification writers, aiming to drive preference and demand for the company’s product line. You will manage large project opportunities from the initial planning stages, ensuring that the company’s products are specified and maintain a preferential position through to project completion. This role requires the development and maintenance of a regional blueprint, identifying and prioritizing key accounts, architectural firms, and project opportunities to maximize market impact. You will be actively involved in tracking and updating project specifications in
Salesforce.com, ensuring all relevant data is accurate and up-to-date. Managing a robust project pipeline will be essential in delivering consistent revenue aligned with business goals.
You will monitor specification rates and project wins, aligning these with the company’s sales targets. Additionally, you will conduct Continuing Education Unit (CEU) and product presentations to educate architects and designers, enhancing their understanding of the company’s offerings. Providing samples for commercial projects, regularly updating architectural firm libraries with the latest samples and literature, and making 12 onsite sales visits per week will be key components of your role. A deep understanding of the commercial design process, project lifecycle, construction industry trends, LEED, and sustainability issues is crucial. You will also actively participate in industry events and associations such as CSC, ARIDO, and IDC, expanding the company’s network and influence.
Furthermore, you will play a pivotal role in launching new products, providing customers with samples, literature, and technical support to ensure successful market entry. Working independently, you will maintain an efficient home office setup while proactively achieving sales goals.
