A&D Specification Sales Representative, Commercial Surfaces
Location: Greater Toronto Area, ON (travel across GTA and surrounding regions)
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Compensation:
Base Salary: $70,000 to $85,000
Bonus: Performance-based bonus plan
Additional: Car allowance, mileage reimbursement, benefits, paid vacation

Our client is a well established manufacturer and distributor of commercial surface materials, working across architectural, design, and fabrication channels. Their product offering is widely specified across corporate, hospitality, healthcare, and institutional projects throughout Ontario.
They are seeking an A&D Specification Sales Representative to drive specification activity within the design community while also building strong relationships with fabricators and installers to ensure successful project execution.
The Opportunity
This is a relationship driven role focused on influencing specifications early in the design process and maintaining strong alignment with fabricators to convert specifications into awarded business.
You will work closely with architects, designers, and key decision makers to position products at the front end, while also supporting the downstream channel to ensure projects are delivered successfully.

Key Responsibilities
A&D Specification Development
- Build and maintain relationships with architects, designers, and specification writers across the GTA
- Present and promote surface products to secure specification on commercial projects
- Conduct product presentations, lunch and learns, and design consultations
- Track and influence projects from concept through to tender stage
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with fabricators, millwork shops, and installers
- Ensure specifications are carried through to fabrication and installation stages
- Provide product support, technical information, and coordination throughout project execution
- Identify opportunities to grow business through fabrication partners
- Identify and pursue new project opportunities within commercial, institutional, and hospitality sectors
- Build a strong pipeline of specification driven work
- Expand presence within key accounts and design firms
- Track project pipelines and provide updates on specifications and awarded work
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure accurate quoting, lead times, and product availability
- Support clients through the full project lifecycle
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and product positioning
- Provide feedback to leadership on opportunities within the GTA market
- 1 to 3 plus years of sales experience within commercial surfaces, building materials, or architectural products
- Experience working within the A&D community and understanding of specification driven sales
- Established relationships with architects, designers, and or fabricators in the GTA is a strong asset
- Strong understanding of commercial construction and project timelines
- Proven ability to influence specifications and convert to awarded business
- Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship building skills
- Self starter with strong organizational and time management skills
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the territory
- Experience selling surfaces such as laminates, solid surface, quartz, stone, or similar materials
- Background working with or selling into fabricators and millwork shops
- Familiarity with drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Field based role with regular travel across the Greater Toronto Area
- Combination of client meetings, design firm visits, and occasional office or showroom time
- Established brand with strong presence in the commercial design community
- Balanced role across specification and fabrication channels
