For a specialist firm that still upholds every placement to the standards of the 3 founding Partners, that\u2019s something we\u2019re very proud of.<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><\/div>\n<h4 data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">What We Saw Across the Industry in 2025<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<div data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">If I were to sum up the building materials industry this year in one word, it would be\u00a0<b data-ogsc=\"\">uneven<\/b>. There were winners and losers, strong pockets and soft pockets, and\u2014more often than not\u2014the difference came down to\u00a0<i data-ogsc=\"\">leadership confidence<\/i>\u00a0rather than anything structural.<\/span><\/div>\n<div data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><\/div>\n<div data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Some of the forces shaping the market this year:<\/span><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">Tariffs and trade uncertainty<\/b> \u2013 still a constant backdrop.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">\u201cBuy Canada\u201d pushes<\/b> \u2013 not just talk anymore; it\u2019s influencing purchasing behaviour and product strategy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">Supply-chain realignment<\/b> \u2013 reshoring, redundancy, and diversification becoming the norm.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">US businesses pulling back from Canadian investment<\/b> \u2013 a noticeable shift.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">PE\/VC acquisitions<\/b> \u2013 plenty of deals, plenty of change, and a clear divide between companies that thrive under new ownership and those that wobble.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">New entrants into the recruitment space<\/b> \u2013 both overseas firms and local agencies suddenly \u201cdiscovering\u201d building materials and throwing resources at it.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">Modular construction quietly gaining momentum<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 early days, but enough movement to make 2026 one to watch.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">Our Own Data Points From the Year<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/dmcrecruitment.com\/fr\/elaboration-denquetes-sur-les-salaires-8\/\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">2024 Canadian Building Materials Salary Survey<\/b><\/a>\u00a0highlighted something important:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">Pay equity between men and women has materially improved across the industry.<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">Early signals for our\u00a0<b data-ogsc=\"\">2025 survey<\/b>\u00a0(launching Q1 2026) show another shift:<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\"><b data-ogsc=\"\">the East\/West divide in sales compensation has more or less disappeared<\/b>\u2014the West has almost fully caught up.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-ogsc=\"black\" data-ogsb=\"white\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;\">And for the first time ever, we\u2019re running a\u00a0<b data-ogsc=\"\">US-wide Sales Representative Salary Survey<\/b>, and the reaction to that news has been overwhelmingly positive.
