This is a key position responsible for monitoring commodity markets, negotiating with suppliers and ensuring the plant has the right materials available to support production requirements.<\/p>\n<p> The ideal candidate understands lumber markets, purchasing and inventory management within a truss plant, lumber yard, building components manufacturer or building materials business.<\/p>\n<p> What You\u2019ll Do <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Purchase dimensional lumber and related commodities for roof and floor truss production<\/li>\n<li>Monitor lumber markets, pricing trends, availability and lead times<\/li>\n<li>Negotiate pricing, purchasing terms and delivery schedules with suppliers<\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain strong relationships with mills, wholesalers and distributors<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate purchasing decisions with production schedules, inventory levels and sales forecasts<\/li>\n<li>Maintain appropriate inventory levels while limiting overstock and unnecessary carrying costs<\/li>\n<li>Review historical usage and upcoming production requirements to anticipate material needs<\/li>\n<li>Track purchase orders, shipments and supplier performance<\/li>\n<li>Work with production, sales and operations to respond to changing priorities<\/li>\n<li>Identify alternative suppliers and products when availability or pricing changes<\/li>\n<li>Monitor material quality and work with suppliers to resolve shortages or quality concerns<\/li>\n<li>Support accurate costing and margin management<\/li>\n<li>Maintain organized purchasing, pricing and inventory records<\/li>\n<li>Assist with customer and sales requirements when needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> What You Bring <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience purchasing lumber or wood products within a truss plant, lumber yard, building materials operation or component manufacturing business<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of dimensional lumber, grades, species and commodity pricing<\/li>\n<li>Experience monitoring markets and making purchasing decisions based on pricing, demand and inventory requirements<\/li>\n<li>Established relationships within the Western Canadian lumber market would be an asset<\/li>\n<li>Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills<\/li>\n<li>An understanding of roof and floor truss manufacturing is preferred<\/li>\n<li>Experience with inventory management and purchasing software<\/li>\n<li>Strong analytical skills and confidence working with costs, margins and market data<\/li>\n<li>The ability to balance production needs with inventory and cash-flow considerations<\/li>\n<li>Clear communication and strong cross-functional collaboration skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience in contractor sales or customer account management would be an asset<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> What\u2019s Offere<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full employee benefits<\/li>\n<li>Stable, full-time employment<\/li>\n<li>A key role within an established Manitoba truss manufacturer<\/li>\n<li>The opportunity to influence purchasing strategy, inventory performance and plant profitability<\/li>\n<li>A collaborative environment working closely with production, sales and operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> If you understand lumber markets and know how to keep a manufacturing operation supplied while protecting costs and margins, we would like to hear from you.<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","job_category":[658,1189],"job_location":[1009],"class_list":["post-16972","job","type-job","status-publish","hentry","job_category-building-materials","job_category-commodity-trading-raw-materials-trading","job_location-winnipeg"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/dmcrecruitment.com\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job\/16972","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/dmcrecruitment.com\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/dmcrecruitment.com\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/job"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/dmcrecruitment.com\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=16972"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"job_category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dmcrecruitment.com\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job_category?post=16972"},{"taxonomy":"job_location","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/dmcrecruitment.com\/fr\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/job_location?post=16972"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
