The successful candidate will contribute to the design and coordination of building mechanical systems while collaborating with mechanical, electrical and structural professionals.<\/p>\n<p> This opportunity would suit an engineer who enjoys being involved throughout the project lifecycle and is looking to continue developing their technical expertise, project responsibilities and client-facing skills.<\/p>\n<p><strong> Key Responsibilities<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Design and coordinate building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the design of process piping, fuel-transfer systems and other specialized mechanical systems where required.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare mechanical drawings, specifications and equipment schedules.<\/li>\n<li>Produce design documentation through the preliminary, schematic, tender and construction stages.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical and other project disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>Review technical specifications, drawings and construction details.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct site visits and surveys to assess existing mechanical systems.<\/li>\n<li>Perform construction reviews to confirm that mechanical systems are being installed in general accordance with the design documents.<\/li>\n<li>Assist with technical reports, calculations, equipment selection and project documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain knowledge of applicable building codes, standards and industry developments.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants and internal project teams.<\/li>\n<li>Support projects from initial concept through construction and completion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>Qualifications<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.<\/li>\n<li>Approximately 5-8 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.<\/li>\n<li>Registered as a Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, or eligible to obtain registration.<\/li>\n<li>Experience designing mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, industrial or multi-family buildings.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, engineering drawings and construction details.<\/li>\n<li>Strong technical, organizational and project-coordination skills.<\/li>\n<li>Clear written and verbal communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborative, team-oriented approach and a professional attitude.<\/li>\n<li>Willingness to attend project sites as required.<\/li>\n<li>Valid driver&#8217;s licence and the ability to undertake occasional short-duration travel.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <strong>What&#8217;s Offered<\/strong> <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The opportunity to join an established and collaborative engineering team.<\/li>\n<li>Exposure to a diverse portfolio of building projects.<\/li>\n<li>Ongoing professional development and career-growth opportunities.<\/li>\n<li>A supportive multidisciplinary working environment.<\/li>\n<li>Competitive compensation and benefits based on experience and qualifications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Apply in Confidence<\/p>\n<p> DMC Recruitment is managing this search on a confidential basis.
