{"id":16931,"date":"2026-08-21T01:54:49","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T15:54:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dmcrecruitment.com\/job\/yard-and-warehouse-manager-burnaby-2\/"},"modified":"2026-08-21T01:54:49","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T15:54:49","slug":"yard-and-warehouse-manager-burnaby-2","status":"publish","type":"job","link":"https:\/\/dmcrecruitment.com\/fr\/job\/yard-and-warehouse-manager-burnaby-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Yard and Warehouse Manager &#8211; Burnaby"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yard &amp; Warehouse Manager<br \/>\ufffd\ufffd Burnaby, BC<br \/>Comp 70,000 to 90,000 +15% Bonus + Benefits + Vacation<\/p>\n<p> DMC Recruitment Group is partnering with a well-established and respected building materials supplier to recruit an experienced Yard &amp; Warehouse Manager for its Burnaby operation.<\/p>\n<p> This is an excellent opportunity for a proven leader with deep lumber and building materials experience who thrives in a unionized environment and enjoys developing teams, improving operations, and delivering exceptional customer service.<\/p>\n<p> The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all yard and warehouse operations, ensuring a safe and productive work environment, supporting inventory accuracy, and driving operational excellence across the facility.<br \/> Key Responsibilities <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead, coach, and develop yard and warehouse employees while fostering a positive, accountable team culture.<\/li>\n<li>Direct daily operations including scheduling, task delegation, workload management, and performance oversight.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a strong focus on safety and ensure compliance with all Occupational Health &amp; Safety requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Act as management representative on the Joint Health &amp; Safety Committee.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinate employee onboarding, safety training, forklift certification, and ongoing skills development.<\/li>\n<li>Build strong working relationships with both unionized employees and internal stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Partner closely with sales and operations teams to ensure exceptional customer service and order fulfillment.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee inventory control, cycle counts, and year-end inventory processes.<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities to improve yard layout, workflow efficiency, product storage, and material handling practices.<\/li>\n<li>Manage fleet, equipment, and facility maintenance requirements while controlling operational costs.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all operational documentation and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> What We&#8217;re Looking For <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience within the lumber, building materials, or construction supply industry.<\/li>\n<li>Previous experience managing unionized employees is required.<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of lumber, building materials, hardware, and warehouse operations.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrated success leading yard, warehouse, distribution, or branch operations.<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of inventory management, shipping, receiving, and material handling processes.<\/li>\n<li>Working knowledge of Occupational Health &amp; Safety legislation and safe work practices.<\/li>\n<li>Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees while managing performance and accountability.<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable balancing customer service, operational priorities, and employee relations in a fast-paced environment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Why Consider This Opportunity?
