This role oversees a team of junior estimators, reviews takeoffs, coordinates with sales, and compiles final bid submissions.<\/p>\n<p> The position is primarily focused on <strong>pre-construction estimating and bid management<\/strong>, ensuring accuracy, organization, and timely delivery of estimates across approximately <strong>150 annual bids<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> The Senior Estimator will play a key role in developing the estimating department&#8217;s processes and mentoring junior staff while supporting the organization&#8217;s continued growth.<\/p>\n<p> Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p> Estimating Leadership &amp; Team Management <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead and manage a team of <strong>4-9 estimators<\/strong>, including training, mentoring, and task delegation.<\/li>\n<li>Oversee daily estimating workflow, including scheduling and assignment of material takeoffs and bid preparation.<\/li>\n<li>Review and validate work produced by junior estimators to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.<\/li>\n<li>Provide guidance on complex estimates and step in when necessary to support tight deadlines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Bid Preparation &amp; Pre-Construction <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Compile and assemble <strong>final bid packages<\/strong> from estimates and material takeoffs prepared by the team.<\/li>\n<li>Review structural and architectural drawings and specification books to ensure scope completeness.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure all major cost drivers and project requirements are captured before submission.<\/li>\n<li>Maintain clear documentation and notes for all bids to support future revisions or updates.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Sales &amp; Internal Coordination <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Coordinate closely with the <strong>sales team<\/strong> to provide timely bid information and updates.<\/li>\n<li>Communicate estimate details, risks, and clarifications to sales staff throughout the bidding process.<\/li>\n<li>Support customer communications when necessary during pre-construction phases.<\/li>\n<li>Potentially assist in client meetings or presentations when required.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Systems &amp; Process Development <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Maintain organized digital file structures and estimating documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Utilize estimating software (currently <strong>Prebuilt ML<\/strong>) and assist with improving workflows and data management.<\/li>\n<li>Identify opportunities to improve estimating systems, processes, and departmental efficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Bid Volume Management <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee approximately:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>100 full project takeoffs annually<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>50 budget estimates annually<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Ensure estimating schedules are managed effectively to avoid last-minute bid preparation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> QualificationsExperience <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Significant experience in <strong>construction estimating<\/strong>, ideally in <strong>rough carpentry or structural framing scopes<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Experience managing or mentoring estimating teams.<\/li>\n<li>Experience preparing and assembling <strong>complete bid packages<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Background in <strong>prefabrication, wood framing, or building materials<\/strong> is highly desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Technical Skills <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to read and interpret <strong>architectural and structural drawings<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Experience reviewing <strong>specification books<\/strong> and construction documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Proficiency with <strong>Excel, Word, and estimating software platforms<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Strong file management and documentation practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Industry Background (Preferred)<br \/> Candidates may come from backgrounds such as: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Estimating roles in construction or building materials<\/li>\n<li>Prefabrication or panelized construction companies<\/li>\n<li>General contractors or developers<\/li>\n<li>Experienced <strong>framers, foremen, or site superintendents<\/strong> transitioning into estimating roles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Personal Attributes <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Highly organized and detail-oriented.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership and mentoring capability.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple concurrent bids and deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Self-starter who can improve systems and propose new ideas.<\/li>\n<li>Strong communication skills for cross-department coordination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> Compensation &amp;
