We are recruiting a Contractor Sales Representative to join a well-established, independent building materials supplier serving the Winnipeg and surrounding market.
This is a relationship-driven sales role focused on managing and growing an existing book of contractor accounts, while identifying new opportunities within a highly active and loyal customer base.
The business operates as a full-service building center, supplying everything from structural materials through to finishing products, and has built a strong reputation through service, trust, and long-term relationships.

The Opportunity

This role is designed for someone who thrives in a relationship-based, account management environment, with the expectation to both protect and grow an established book of business.
You will inherit a portfolio of contractor accounts and work closely with internal teams to deliver a high level of service, while identifying opportunities to expand share of wallet.
The business does not operate on aggressive, transactional sales tactics — success comes from consistency, trust, and long-term account development.

Key elements include:
  • Managing a book of approximately 25–35 contractor accounts
  • Growing existing relationships while identifying new opportunities
  • Working closely with internal teams to deliver seamless service
  • Leveraging existing demand generation (e.g. delivery channels and inbound activity)
  • Contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented sales environment
  • Operating with autonomy and accountability in the territory
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop an assigned portfolio of contractor accounts
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with builders, renovators, and trades
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales across product categories
  • Support quoting, project coordination, and order execution
  • Maintain regular customer contact through site visits and communication
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high service levels
  • Contribute to overall team performance and shared success
  • Stay active in the market, identifying new business opportunities where appropriate
Ideal Profile
  • Experience in building materials, contractor sales, or trade supply
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills
  • A “hunter mindset with a farmer approach”, proactive but relationship-led
  • Comfortable managing multiple accounts and prioritizing activity
  • Background as a contractor, inside sales rep, or OSR is highly relevant
  • Values teamwork, accountability, and long-term customer relationships
This role is particularly suited to candidates from independent dealers or relationship-driven distribution businesses, rather than highly transactional or corporate sales environments.
