This role offers strategic, creative, and technical design support and is responsible for managing design projects from concept to completion. Key responsibilities include defining project scope, aligning with client business objectives, creating timelines, developing strategic product applications, and overseeing specifications with the Sales team to ensure project success.

This is a full-time, permanent role based in our modern and well-appointed office. Core hours are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours depending on project needs. We offer a hybrid work model, with time divided between home, the office, and client sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
- Develop standardized layouts and typical drawings for various project spaces, ensuring alignment with client needs identified during early discussions.
- Apply a Value Engineering approach to enhance project outcomes and support winning strategies.
- Create space plans and standard layouts to help clients visualize the project scope.
- Translate space plans into specifications for budgeting and order preparation.
- Prepare final order documents for client approval.
- Define the scope of services and identify necessary professional services.
- Establish and confirm project timelines.
- Attend client meetings, conduct site visits, and complete inventory checks as needed.
- Work closely with project teams to define roles, responsibilities, and key milestones, ensuring alignment with client expectations.
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and engineers to integrate project details that meet both functional needs and client objectives, including verifying electrical and technical requirements.
The ideal candidate has experience in the office furniture industry, either with a dealer or manufacturer, particularly in technical systems furniture planning. A strong background in interior commercial construction, Provincial Building Codes, architecture, and design is essential, along with familiarity with real estate and contract furnishings. Proficiency in AutoCAD (current release), CET software, 20/20 CAP, Z-axis, Revit, and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is also required. Staying current with design trends in commercial and healthcare spaces is a valuable asset.
