About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Vice President of Sales to join our clients’ leadership team. This role is critical to driving the growth and success of our business across multifamily, residential, and commercial markets. The successful candidate will have a strong background in sales strategy, data management, and process optimization, with the ability to segment markets, manage a diverse product portfolio, and develop impactful programs targeting architects, designers, developers, contractors, and dealers.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
  • Develop and execute high-impact sales strategies that drive new customer acquisition and increase market share across diverse product markets.
  • Cultivate a high-performance selling culture within the sales team, ensuring alignment with broader business goals.
  • Implement data-driven strategies to monitor and optimize the performance of products, marketing efforts, and sales processes.
  • Oversee the development of metrics and dashboards to track performance and implement commercial strategies that drive business results.
  • Lead the sales funnel from lead generation to deal closure, ensuring seamless integration between sales, product, operations, and marketing teams.
Market Development:
  • Take a holistic view of the product portfolio to identify and capitalize on market opportunities, especially within multifamily, residential, and commercial segments.
  • Develop and manage programs to effectively promote products to target audiences, including architects, designers, developers, contractors, and dealers.
  • Utilize deep understanding of the specifications process and the construction ecosystem to position products strategically in the market.
  • Identify and develop strategic relationships with key industry players to support business growth and market penetration.
Sales Process Optimization:
  • Lead initiatives to scale sales processes, including the implementation of performance monitoring tools and sales analytics.
  • Drive the adoption and optimization of CRM and ERP systems to enhance data management, sales tracking, and overall business intelligence.
  • Implement strategies to identify high-potential products and phase out underperforming ones, ensuring a focus on profitable growth.
Talent Development:
  • Develop a three-year strategy for talent management, ensuring the right people are in the right roles to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide coaching and leadership to the sales team, holding individuals accountable while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Partner with branch managers to recruit and onboard top sales talent and support the team in structuring complex deals.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record in strategic sales leadership, with proven success in business leadership and management.
  • Experience in building materials, construction, architecture, and design (A&D) industries, with a strong understanding of the distribution and wholesale sectors.
  • Deep knowledge of sales process optimization, data management, and market segmentation.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to forecast and anticipate internal and external factors impacting the business.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, ERP systems, and sales analytics tools.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to foster strategic relationships across the industry.
  • Inspirational leadership with a focus on coaching, collaboration, and driving change.
