Our client is a well-known manufacturer of premium interior surfacing products. Providing industry leading products with exceptional service levels has enabled this business to thrive for more than half a century.
Due to ever-increasing demand for their prominent and unique range of surfacing products, my client is currently looking to identify an experienced Specification Sales Representative to call on the Architect & Design community in Metro Vancouver, Edmonton & Calgary (80% BC/15% AB - very occasional travel to Winnipeg or Regina as specific opportunities present themselves). This region has been extremely well managed to date by both the former Manufacturers Rep and local distribution reps. The successful candidate will inherit an up to date book of active clients, as well as the opportunity to develop many more untapped relationships and business opportunities throughout the region.

Seeking an experienced A&D Rep who currently lives somewhere in the Metro Vancouver or Lower Mainland with easy access to Vancouver downtown. Overnight travel to Calgary & Edmonton will be part of the role on an approximately 6 week rolling schedule of 3 days of pre-scheduled appointments with clients. Very occasional travel to Vancouver Island (Victoria) may be required once or twice per year.
The candidate must have some previous experience working as either a Specification Sales (A+D) Representative, Inside Sales catering to A&D or as a Distributors or Manufacturers Representative who have called on Specifiers. An education, background or passion for interior design will also be viewed as an advantage.
- Call on Architects & Designers to promote the line of products and provide ongoing education and support
- Possess and demonstrate continuity of some previous relationships with local A&D firms
- Follow projects through to completion in order to "hold the spec"
- Conduct regular training and education meetings and lunch and learns with clients
- Host and attend industry events and trade shows as required (when permitted)
- Support local Distributor Reps as the Territory Manufacturers Rep and product line expert
- Some overnight travel (circa. 20 - 25% when permitted) is required for appropriate territory coverage.
- The successful applicant must hold a valid Canadian drivers license.
- Completion of post-secondary education/program is desirable.
